The focus on health at Penn State’s new Student Health Center starts with the LEED-certified building itself. Among other features, garden roofs and natural lighting promote a healthy outlook among staff and students while also facilitating energy efficiency and a healthy environment. R.H. Marcon Inc. installed the 7,000-square-foot American Hydrotech Garden Roof Assembly on multiple levels, designed so that many |
offices overlook the green plantings. This was the first garden roof of its type installed at Penn State’s sprawling main campus. Marcon’s tasks also included 5,000 square feet of Firestone EPDM totally adhered roofing, over Firestone's tapered roof insulation. | ||
