SAFETY
Marcon's
commitment to safety helps keep your project on schedule and on
budget. As part of our formal safety program, each of our new employees
receives a safety orientation. Weekly "tool box talks" advise roofing
crews on such subjects as ladder safety, fall prevention, power
tool operation and responsible kettle operation. The Safety Committee
meets monthly to review any accidents or close calls; one important
member of that committee is our safety consultant, who also makes
on-site inspections at each job. Employees look forward to our annual
Safety Incentive Award, which culminates in the raffling of a pickup
truck.
Does our safety system work? The proof is in our worker's compensation
modifier. A modifier of 1.0 , which is considered good in the construction
trades, indicates that a company has essentially paid in premiums
what its employees have received in compensation. Marcon's 1999
modifier was .669, meaning our employees have made considerably
fewer claims than we paid in premiums - an outstanding achievement
that means our employees are safer, our insurance costs are lower
and work proceeds more efficiently.

MAINTENANCE
PROGRAM
Your
roof system is exposed to many forms of chemical and physical stress.

investment by detecting minor flaws before damage becomes widespread.
Once you join the program, our maintenance professionals perform
a detailed visual examination of your roof at regular intervals,
and your building is placed at the top of our priority list if a
leak occurs.
Since its inception in 1991, our maintenance program has grown to
cover 94 buildings, including Murata Electronics, Raytheon Systems,
Centre Community Hospital, Corning Asahi and Mead Products. Join
